Communications strategy

Concept facilitation
The hardest part of carrying out an effort is getting it started. A communications and project strategist helps you plug in the right piece at the right time to reach your audience and your goals.
The need for a comprehensive communications strategy has never been greater. Social media is a nightmare, meeting people in person is … does anyone do that anymore? … and paid advertising gets more expensive by the day. Where does that leave us?
Your business, organization or project is entirely different than your neighbor’s. Following their communications plan—or having no plan at all—is no longer an option.
Communications strategists at Ink & Soil have a knack for looking at the big picture, breaking it into smaller elements, and helping teams assign and schedule each piece.

The University of Kentucky Community and Leadership Development Cooperative Extension program received funding to educate their college community about the resources they offer. Lisa worked with the six-person team to create and execute a plan that included faculty introduction videos, an online resource library, a 6-week virtual lunch-and-learn series with subject matter experts, and more.

A multidisciplinary, cross-department project has a lot of moving parts. The Recovery Garden Toolkit is an example of one of those projects. This 16-chapter, multi-resource publication involved multiple contributors from four university departments. That’s multiple writing styles and multiple communication and collaboration preferences, too. Lisa lined out a schedule for each chapter’s and resource’s completion, helped compile some of the chapters and resources, edited the work for tone and clarity, and helped to move the project into launch and community-of-practice stages.

Very often, we’re not the ones who know best; you are. Lisa worked with Mantis Creative Wellness, an integrated art and healing center, to determine the areas the director needed to focus her energy based on her core values. Through this powerful work, Lisa guided the director in charting a course involving short-term and long-term goals.
